The first thing we did in St. John's was to take a bus to Petty Harbour, to get on another boat, in this case a medium sized sailboat, carrying about 30 of us.

The Scademia was originally a fishin boat, and was refitted as a motor-sail cruising boat. Just used for tourists now.

Although not billed as a whale watching tour, we saw LOTS of whales.

Funny thing was, the day before, in St. Anthony, a whole group from the ship went on a cruise BILLED as a whale watching tour, and saw ZERO whales. Boy, were they annoyed when we told them!

This is a series of still shots of a humpback sounding. My new camera takes high resolution still in a good long sequence, at a pretty good rate.

Luckily, I was able to get the camera pointed right, and keep it fairly steady

I think they came our pretty darn good!

They look awsome at full resolution (2600 X 1950, 24 bit color, only slightly compressed). They average about 2.5 MBytes each.
