One thing St. Anthony has that is very unique is the L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site.  The entrance area has a very nice museum.

In about 950 AD, Vikings from Greenland started a settlement in Newfoundland, and were there for at least 3 years, although the length of their stay,and where else they may have gone,  seems to be still debated by scientists.
