One of several churches in Reykjavik we could see from the harbor area, and most seemed to be on hills
Small ship going past our ship's berth, with a pretty background
This is the name of a hot spring we stopped at on the way up to a glacier
Heck yes, they're hot! These are NOT the kind you can take a dip in, as they are way over boiling. They also splash & spit at you; you've got to be careful!
The name of one of the waterfalls where we stopped for a bit
See the river the falls come from? No? Because there isn't one! The water flows under a rock layer, and just comes out of the ground at the top of the falls. Unique situation.
Windy as heck, as I recall, and cold as well! Remember this was August!
A pretty set of rapids above the main falls area
One of our stops alongthe highway had snacks by Emmessis. If you're not familiar with the medical term "emesis", try looking it up in Google spelled that way. Just a spelling & translation difference, right? Not a name for snacks you'll be seeing soon in the US...
