An map and explanation of the geothermal area we visited. We passed several large Geo-thermal electrical generating plants, and they pipe steam for heating long distances to the towns.

One of many hot steam & sulpher fumaroles we saw. Nice NOT to be "over protected". You could get as close as you wanted, stick your hand in the steam, whatever.

Boiling hot mud pool. They just warned us about the danger, once. Refreshing attitude, compared to the fences and warning signes you would no doubt see in the US.
